A blog post on: Transferring to St. Maurice School by Faith

Transferring to St. Maurice School
By Faith
This year, I decided to transfer to St. Maurice School for Grade 7.  My previous school, St. Edward’s School, only went up to Grade 6. Even before my last year at St. Edward’s ended, I was already looking for a school where I thought I would feel happy. For me, there was always something about St. Maurice that seemed welcoming. After some serious thought, I was sure that I wanted to go to St. Maurice. To me, it seemed like a very nice school that could provide me with an excellent education, school atmosphere, and a bright future. I took the entrance exam. It was my first exam ever. I was very scared at first but after I prayed, I felt comforted and did my very best. I also had a nice interview with Mr. Bennett.  About 2 weeks later, I got my acceptance letter! I was thrilled and I was excited to start my first year at St. Maurice. As I was shopping for my school supplies, I was very happy. I really wanted to start school already. I almost couldn't sleep from the excitement during the night before the first day of school!
The first day of school finally came, and I was ready. I was feeling positive and wanted to have a good school year. The smile on my face spread from one ear to the other as I was putting on my uniform. When my mom and I finally got to school, I felt a little bit nervous but my mom assured me everything would be okay with a nice hug. I walked in, grabbed my binder, and went into my first class. I really enjoyed it. It was fun to meet new people. I was welcomed by my very nice classmates and teachers. It made me very happy that I was making new friends. After a week, I finally got settled in to St. Maurice. I knew all of my classmates' and teachers' names. I knew where each class was too. I made connections with many of my peers and I am very fond of them now. I enjoy learning in class and studying. I can say proudly that St. Maurice School is what I envisioned it to be and more! I am truly happy and I thank the Lord for blessing me with such a wonderful school filled with wonderful people. I also thank the Lord for my mother, who loved and cared for me. She supported my decision of going to this school and works hard to provide for the both of us. I love my life, and I would never change a thing.
Thank you for reading my blog post and I hope you enjoyed reading it!
