Basketball Tryouts

Basketball tryouts started last week on Tuesday. There were lots of boys at tryouts; they might even make another developmental team! There were 2 tryouts, and then the coaches picked who could go to the last tryout, and one of them was me. From our grade 7 class Lado, Yafet, Derek, and Alador.

We all did are best and all of us got into the last tryout. There was a third tryout, which determined which one of us would be taken on o the competitive team.

What 7B doing in Science

                In Science class 7B has been learning the second part in the Particle Theory of Matter. We have learned about solvents and solute. We have just been writing notes in Science class. We are having a test on the Particle Theory of Matter next week.



Our next unit is forces and structures, We get to make a spaghetti structure. After that we our going to Earth's core. We did a experiment on salt will get to its saturated point and the the salt had to get to 35.9 mL to get perfect on the scale, My group got it to 34.9 mL.

What we’re doing in ELA class:

In ELA class we just had our short story test about a week ago. It was pretty
long, so we had to write it in two parts. The first part was true or false, matching, and all
the easy stuff. The second part was hard because it was long answer.

Now next in ELA class, we’re reading a novel named Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
It’s about a boy named Brian who is on a plane with just the pilot. In the middle of the
trip the pilot gets a heart attack and he dies, leaving Brian alone. Brian doesn’t know
what way to go so he decides to crash the plane. The plane crashes into a lake but
Brian survives. That’s all we’ve read so far. Thank you for listening.

In math class right now we have just finished our unit on area of a triangle, rectangle, and parallelogram. We are currently learning decimal numbers percent and fractions. We just got a sheet on how to find the percentage of any number. If you wanted to find 1 % of a number you would take that number and divide it by 100 and move the decimal point 2 places to the left. If you were looking for 5% of a number you would divide by ten and then divide that by 2. If you wanted to find the 10% of a number you would divide by 10  then move the decimal place 1 two the left. If you wanted to find 25% percent you would divide by 4 or you could divide by 2 twice. And if you wanted to find 50% percent you would divide by 2.So far in math class we have not had any tests or quizzes yet but don’t forget the day 4 quiz.

What we are learnig in Gym Class

We are learning in gym class is Volleyball. We have a volleyball test on Friday. We would first start out an exercises we would jump rope and do different exercises like the pink panther or push ups or sit ups for 45 seconds. Or we would run maybe 10 laps.

We are learning how to set the volleyball,spike the ball,bub the ball.We are testing each other in gym class right now. we are doing the right stance or if you hit the ball right or if you hit it to your partner.
